The rank denotes the importance the voters have attached to a topic. A small rank indicates great importance. The following code is used to calculate the rank: For each vote points are given according to the importance of the topic denoted by the voter (5 points for "essential", 1 point for "slight interest"). To reduce the weight of old votes those votes older than 1 year (2 years) are multiplied by the factor 0.5 (0.25). Votes older than 3 years are not counted anymore.
